Despite the slightly pretentious name, “The World’s Greatest Stretch” (WGS) is an amazing way to improve mobility along your hips and spine (See photo below).
WHAT IF I CAN’T DO THE WGS?
Attaining may be difficult at first, especially if you haven’t stretched like this before. This is why we developed a series of exercise progressions for you to build up to performing this stretch (see photo below). Find the exercise level that is most appropriate for you to start with and advance to the next level once you feel like you have conquered the level.
TAKE YOUR HIP MOBILITY TO THE NEXT LEVEL!
One of our favorite ways to integrate this exercise is through a quick warm-up circuit (WGS). The video and photo below outline this circuit and provide you with a quick and easy strategy to foster healthy hips, back, and knees. This circuit is most effective when performed consistently – considering this circuit takes less than 2 minutes per side we recommend performing this circuit everyday if your goal is to improve your hip mobility. If you find performing this whole circuit difficult at the moment, try starting with the stretches that you can perform and slowly integrate the more difficult stretches.
